Man & Earth

One tear you shed
And flood our homes

One look of anger
And the whole world is parched

One spit of yours
Lays the lava for miles

One wave of hundred feet
One gulp to cool your inner

One quake of yours
shatters all our work

While I claim to conquer you,
while i claim to rule the world.
You continue to turn unperturbed
Around yourself and around the sun.

      1. Ha! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜Š great way of putting it. well Iโ€™m very glad youโ€™re glad. Cool name btw (sang – which means โ€œbloodโ€ in French, maybe you know that though :)) and accompanying doctor profile image, and blog name (verses from the heart)! Well thought out and/or interesting happenstance. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒท

  1. U have excited me to the core lia.

I never knew sang means blood in French.

All I ever knew was that it is the past tense of sing.

By the way, my friend gave it to me as a nickname to mock me. I took it as my pen name. I cant sing. So i became sang. Ha Ha.

    Yes. Its a great happenstance.

  2. Sang, I enjoyed reading your poem. The personification of the earth is carried nicely through the poem. โค You remind us of how small and insignificant we are in the universe. Letting go of the aspiration to conquer the world frees us to turn our attention to the task of making a meaningful life. ๐Ÿ™‚
