Remote Reunion

This little volume of air wants to call itself a pot.

It can never be the pot, but only the ocean of air.

Still it clings on to the clay pot.

The glimmer of a soul wrapped and woven in the fathoms, occasionally seems to see some light, probably that generated from the small creatures in the ignorant depths.

The light of the sun is deeper and farther outside the surface than the depths inside.

A Life of Challenge

For want of rose,
I bore the prick
For want of the scent
I pressed it upon

My love for the rose
Its color, its scent
Its beauty..
Beats the pain..

For want of fame
I ran, i swam
The pain was sweet

For want of love,
I bore the insult

For want of light
I bore the sun
For want of mirth
I stood in the rains

For want of success
I clung to my passion
I stood up, spoke out
Demanded

For want of joy, I gave it to others
I am living. Not surviving.

For want of the rose
I dared to pluck
For want of the rose
I dared the thorn.

DEBT

I am ever in debt to you

Everytime you dampen my wave
I emerge out with new energy

Everytime you press me down
I spring up with new life

Everytime you cut my branches
I sprout new shoots

Everytime you wrench my spirits
I spread out wider

Everytime You suspect me
I prove my worth to the world

Without the electrons the atom is lost
Without the brakes, a car is doomed
Without your negatives,
I can never surge ahead.

INFIDELITY

Infidelity

The moon spills light, but its cold
You are with me, but I am still lonely
I have no intent to live with you
Nor the courage to be alone
What greater punishment
For being sincere, for bearing kids
And bearing your sins
Than to live together
And Feign harmony?

What greater injustice than
To accept the unacceptable
What cruelty it is
To retain me and yet reject
To touch another woman
And profess hate for her.

Your past strangles me
I cannot believe you
I cannot trust your promise
I cannot trust your weakness
For women

Try as I might
I cannot pardon you
The illusion of love
You made me believe
The riches, your gifts
Stone heavy on my bosom
The memories of our togetherness
Mere ghosts, haunts my peace..

I drank the sweet poison
You served
What a fool I was
My tastes were numb,
It didn’t suspect your menu
My eyes blind in faith
Didn’t notice the darkness in your eyes

I had a fear for change
A fear for life
I had a content, a comfort
I had a faith
That you will not let me go

You praised my beauty, my voice
My food, my work, my talents
You Fulfilled my wants, gave me
Freedom..

All these you gave me
In exchange for your betrayal.

Today, you talk about intersecting thoughts, poles apart goals
To shield your cruelty
You talk about the hues of love
Your sacrifices, your buried passions
Inevitable Fate.

Your words can’t wipe my tears
Your promises don’t lift my smiles

Why should I suffer
You have no answer
I have no reason..

Smothering like charcoal
No smoke, No fire, No light
Burning within, wrapped in soot

My broken heart
Your broken morals
Time cannot mend.

Why should I be alone
I have duties to finish
And run for my kids
Till the last drop of grease
Dries in the wheels of life.

I don’t need your love
But, please don’t blame me
I don’t grieve for you
You are another character
In passing
Just as I am to you.

Prisoner of Love

Dear blogger friends, please give your honest comments. Thank You.

In the fortress of your love,
I am a prisoner
You hold me with love, like
Water holds the wings of the bird
Like Shade holds the little sapling
Freezing in Time..

Your love gives me freedom
Inside the cage you lock me in ..
Inside the cage of your values,
Inside the mansion of your empire

Yes, I am free as long as you love
inside the prison, i am free..

Your love for me gives you joy..
Does it to me!?
Love is a desire
for an object called ‘me’
You chisel, you chasten me
a mirror image of your thoughts
And beliefs..
A mirror image to admire
And live yourself.

If you love me, pristine
Let me be me.
Do you love me
Or your own dear self!

A Workable Solution to control Population

A workable solution to control Population โ€“ Indiaโ€™s Great Menace
– Dr. Srinivasan G

What is the greatest problem faced by our country (India) now? You will think of Poverty, Unemployment, Pollution, Deforestation, Corruption, Crime, Bad Governance etc.

But the real and root cause of all thinkable problems is Population. Indiaโ€™s Population was 350 million in 1947. Today, it is 1300 million, i.e., nearly 4 times. Why has this population increased?

In those days, population was less even when there were 7-15 children to a couple. Also, child marriages were rampant in the past.

In modern times (last 70 years), each couple bears 1-2 children but the population has become 4 times. Why?

a. Decreased Death Rate, thanks to medical technology.

b. Decreased Infant Mortality & Maternal Mortality Rate

c.  Vaccination has controlled most killer diseases.

Our population has multiplied inspite of the Family Planning norm.

The Government is struggling to cure various ills of the society. But, none of these are going to work as long as Population keeps growing.

The Population Menace can be controlled only by changing the mindset of the people. Here are some brainstorming thoughts.

1. The age of marriage has to be increased. Not less than 21 for the Girl and not less than 24 for the boy. Later the better.

2. First Child at 24 years (of the girl) and Second One (if at all) at 29.

3. Rearing a Second or more Child is Taxable (Govt Initiative)

Two additional  Primary myths in Indian Ethos are to be shattered::

1. Marriage is seen as a mandatory option in India, esp for girls. Marriage is wrongly viewed as a remedy for every bodily or mental disease. This practice should go.

Marriage shall be only one of the options in life.

Every adult should not be pushed into marriage as a ritual. (Marriage is an Option, Not a Compulsion)

The Society should accept singles as their way of life.

2. The Indian psyche is trained to look little on couples who haven’t had children. Consequently,  girls are pushed to attend infertility clinics right from the 2nd month of marriage. This practice is abhorable.

People should view begetting children as a natural outcome. Similarly delays in conception or childlessness should be accepted. Infact, a childless couple have more time for each other and are each other’s child.

Adoption should be encouraged rather than test tube babies.

Bachelorism and Childlessness is not to be ridiculed but has to be taken as a way of life.

Today, we cannot discard our advanced medical technology, vaccinations or say No to Longevity. We cannot kill ourselves or any segment of people.

But, can we not adopt such simple measures as said above to control our population from growing? And then evolve a solution to all current problems in the country?
